  2. *sigh* I watched so many butterflies and hummingbirds today
    knowing they are here for just a short while as they move on further
    South, oh but what a sight they were!

    in a deep river gaze
    beneath the haze
    of waning Summer
    in the billow yearn of weeds
    along the banks
    loosestrife and grape vines
    all find the root ladders
    to climb on in with
    as the sugars call to the tanneries
    of the hanging leaves of trees
    with the cut knife angle
    of the Sun
    on the other side
    of tomorrow
    culling and gathering
    what we can
