Demeter’s stealthy entry
summer at her shoulder
and in her hand
guiding her,
winter’s glimmer

handle me with care
you say to the fire
outside the window
carry me between
the flower and the vine
that grows to Love
the finger clutch
of the sill
fill my palms
with the eyes
of my exhales
as you map the spaces
between the dark
and the morning
looking too

[Gratitude to Edward Rinaldi, for always finding something undiscovered beneath the impasto painted by my eyes. Please click the link with his initials to read more of his amazing writing]
