Collaboration #6 with Brayton Price

DSCN0121The white buds
& flame curve petals.
Can be seen well lit
& precious as metals.

Buds will bloom
& fire glow ancient.
These words are cold
& this love, patient.

Drain the Roses
& cork its perfume.
Sweep out the light
& let night resume.

Roses were red
& its perfume sweet.
Not until you return
& again when we meet.

I’ve never heard Brayton reading any of his poems in person. I did however, have a chance recently, to hear his spoken word in this video “An Aimless Walk”.  Now that I have, I can almost hear his voice and his pauses, when I read this poem.
